Bost Grist Mill

If you’re interested in witnessing history in action, you’ll want to visit Bost Grist Mill. This historical site in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, is just a 11-minute drive from City Wide Exterminating.

Bost Grist Mill has been along the banks of the Rocky River since 1810, though the current building went up in the 1870’s. Originally founded to grind corn into meal, the mill serves the same purpose today – and it uses the same techniques and stones that folks in the 1800’s used!

The mill has endured numerous challenges through the years, including floods and destructive storms. As a result, owners had to relocate the building 200 yards from its original site, but the history is still alive and well in Bost Grist Mill. This historical location not only still grinds corn into meal, but it also serves as a place for visitors to learn a little history about the area, community, and grist mills.

The tour is highly interactive and enjoyable for folks of all ages, so take the family along!

Bost Grist Mill also hosts Civil War reenactments and features a gift shop, where it sells products made from the cornmeal it produces in the mill.
